Turning Point
Trailing 2-0 in the third, the Senators received a one-out hit from Brian Mejia and then with two outs, back-to-back walks to Chuck Taylor and Austin Davidson. Bowie started Hunter Harvey went to 2-2 on Drew Ward before he drilled the 2-2 pitch over the fence in left for his third home run on the season, giving the Senators a 4-2 lead.
On Capitol Hill
Sterling Sharp went five innings and allowed a run in each of the first two innings, but nothing further, to earn the win. He scattered seven hits while striking out three. Mario Sanchez worked in a game for the first time since last Saturday, tossing a perfect sixth. Ronald Peña pitched the seventh, allowed a single, but struck out the final batter of the inning to end the frame. James Bourque tossed the eighth and ninth innings to earn the save.
