Claws Fall 10-7 on Tuesday in Series Opener to Frederick

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Juan Villavicencio, TJayy Walton, and Griffin Burkholder, playing their first games at ShoreTown Ballpark, each had two hits for the BlueClaws, but Frederick topped the Claws 10-7 on Tuesday night at ShoreTown Ballpark.

The BlueClaws had their three game win streak snapped but they have still won nine of their last 13 games.

Frederick scored four times in the top of the first inning. Titan Kennedy-Hayes, the BlueClaws starter, walked five and left with two runners home. Juan Amarante came on and gave up a two run double to Yasmil Bucce for a 4-0 Keys lead.

The BlueClaws responded with three runs in the bottom of the first. Keys starter Carson Dorsey walked four in the inning and gave up a two run single to TJayy Walton in his first BlueClaws at bat. The BlueClaws tied the game in the second on an RBI single from Juan Villavicencio.

Frederick then re-took the lead in the fourth on a SAC fly from Braylon Whitaker and an RBI single from Enddy Azocar.

The BlueClaws hung around, but trailed 9-5 into the eighth when Mark Koloszvary, here on a rehab assignment, homered in the bottom of the eighth to cut the lead to 9-7.

Enddy Azocar, who just arrived to Fredrick on Monday in a trade from the Red Sox, doubled home a run in the top of the ninth to push the lead back to 10-7. Azocar, in his first game in the Orioles system, went 3-6 with three RBIs in the win.

Villavicencio, Walton, and Burkholder had two hits apiece for Jersy Shore.

The teams continue their series on Wednesday at 12:05 pm. LHP Cade Obermueller starts for Jersey Shore.
