Claws Fall 6-4 on Friday at Hudson Valley

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Sean Paul Linan gave up three runs over 7.1 innings and Hudson Valley topped the BlueClaws 6-4 on Friday night.

JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Sean Paul Linan gave up three runs over 7.1 innings and Hudson Valley topped the BlueClaws 6-4 on Friday night.

Jersey Shore threatened in the ninth, loading the bases and scoring on a walk to Trent Farquhar. Juan Villavicencio, however, flew out to centerfield off Brandon Decker to end the game.

After winning both ends of their double-header on Thursday, the BlueClaws had their two game win streak snapped.

The BlueClaws jumped out to the lead in the first inning on a leadoff home run from Villavicencio. It was his first home run with the BlueClaws, in his third game, after he hit 13 in 70 games with Clearwater.

Hudson Valley tied the game in the second on an RBI single from Camden Troyer off starter Luke Gabrysh. The right-hander gave up five runs in four innings and took the loss.

Linan came out with one out in the eighth and earned his second win of the season.

Hudson Valley took the lead in the fourth on a two run single from Willy Montero. Troyer followed with his eighth home run of the year to push the lead to 5-1.

The BlueClaws scored runs on wild pitches in the sixth and eighth.

Danyony Pulido threw two scoreless innings in relief while Micah Ottenbreit threw two innings of relief, allowing one run.

Tyler Pettorini had two hits for the BlueClaws in the loss.

The teams play a double-header on Saturday beginning at 4:05 pm. RHP Ramon Marquez starts game one for Jersey Shore.
