Day, Humphreys Homer But Claws Fall on Friday

SPARTANBURG, SC - Brady Day and Nate Humphreys both homered for the BlueClaws but Hub City bested Jersey Shore 10-3 on Friday night.

The Spartanburgers have taken three of four from Jersey Shore to start the series. Quincy Scott had two hits including a home run while driving in three.

Hub City scored once in the first and three more times in the second to take a 4-0 lead. They chased BlueClaws starter Cade Obermueller, who gave up four runs in 1.2 innings of work.

Brady Day and Nate Humphreys got the BlueClaws back in the game with solo home runs in the third and fourth innings. It was Day's fifth and Humphreys' second of the year.

The Spartanburgers, however, added a run in the home fourth and two more in the fifth on RBI singles from Chandler Pollard and Paxton Kling.

Quincy Scott then launched his 13th home run of the season in the sixth off Cam Hill.

Day had two hits for the BlueClaws in the loss.
