Tatum, Radcliff Homer in 6-3 Saturday Loss at Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, KY - McCarthy Tatum and Baron Radcliff both homered but the BlueClaws fell 6-3 on Saturday at Bowling Green Ballpark.

BOWLING GREEN, KY - McCarthy Tatum and Baron Radcliff both homered but the BlueClaws fell 6-3 on Saturday at Bowling Green Ballpark.

Jersey Shore (10-20) has dropped four of the first five in their series at Bowling Green (20-11). They are now 2-14 on the road so far this season.

The BlueClaws jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead on a first inning home run by McCarthy Tatum, his third of the season. Baron Radcliff followed with a solo home run in the third inning to put the BlueClaws up 3-0. It was Radcliff's second home run of the season.

The Hot Rods got on the board off Mick Abel in the bottom of the second inning. Alexander Ovalles singled home their first run and another scored on a double-play grounder. Oslevis Basabe singled in a run in the third to tie the game before the Hot Rods took the lead with Abel walked Matt Dyer with the bases loaded. Bowling Green added another run in the third on a groundout by Ovalles.

Abel (1-3) was charged with five runs in four innings, allowing six hits, three walks, and he struck out four. Carlos Francisco gave up one run in two innings of relief. Andrew Baker threw a scoreless inning as did Erubiel Armenta.

Graeme Stinson (3-2) earned the win with 2.1 innings of scoreless relief while Nomar Rojas got the save, getting the final six outs.

Radcliff had two hits in the loss while Tatum picked up his eighth hit in the last four games.

The teams wrap up their series on Sunday at 2:05 pm EST. Ben Brown is scheduled to start for Jersey Shore.
