A perfect night in the batter's box for Chance Sisco was nice, but he was much happier with how things went behind the plate on Saturday night.
Besides guiding four pitchers to a 5-0 blanking of Charlotte, the Orioles' top prospect went 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI, and three runs scored. In eight games, Sisco has a slash line of .276/.364/.379 with five RBIs.
"The shutout is the most important part to me," the 22-year-old said. "It's a long game and the other team had many opportunities to score, so whenever you can put up a zero at the end of the night that's a huge accomplishment for the whole team and especially the pitching staff. We went into the game with a plan and executed it pretty well."

Sisco recorded his first hit by ripping a single up the middle in the second inning. Leading off the fourth, he drew a five-pitch walk and later scored on a single by Paul Janish.
"I was able to stay relaxed in the box. I was able to get a few good pitches to hit by working myself into good counts and then I got the barrel on the ball," the California native said.
After driving in a run with a two-out single to left field and scoring in the fifth, Sisco put together his best at-bat of the night in the seventh by working the count full before driving Gregory Infante's fastball the other way for his third double of 2017.
"I got to 2-0 and fouled off a fastball, so he kept coming at me and we got to 3-2 and I wanted to stay up the middle and battle," MLB.com's No. 95 overall prospect said. "I got a fastball in the zone and put a good swing on it and that's all I can try to do. Hopefully, the rest just takes care of itself."
He scored for the third time on a double by Alex Castellanos.
Sisco was called up for a four-game stint with Norfolk in September after spending most of last season with Double-A Bowie. In 116 games across two levels, the second-round pick in 2013 put together a .317/.403/.430 slash line with six home runs and 51 RBIs.
"I stayed with my approach pretty well last year. It's a long season but I stayed pretty comfortable all season long. There were obviously some ups and downs, but I just tried to ride out the hot streaks as long as I could and when things weren't going well, I assessed what was going wrong and tried to fix it as quickly as possible," he said.
The impressive campaign helped Sisco earn a spot in the All-Star Futures Game, where the lefty-hitting catcher went deep against Francisco Rios, the Blue Jays No. 18 prospect.
"The experience was awesome, playing in such a high-caliber game with so many great players," Sisco added. "That definitely helped me carry over confidence into the second half of the season, knowing that I could play with those guys. That kind of propelled me through the rest of the season and into the new year."
Center fielder Logan Schafer had two hits, including a solo homer, for Norfolk.
Jed Bradley (1-0) got the win with two innings of scoreless relief including a walk and a strikeout.
