Louisville Slugger Field Nominated for USA Today 10Best Readers' Choice Awards

LOUISVILLE, KY – Louisville Slugger Field has been nominated for “Best Minor League Ballpark” in USA Today 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, as announced by those outlets today. Fans have the opportunity to vote for Louisville Slugger Field by going to https://10best.usatoday.com/awards/travel/.

Voting is open now and continues until Monday, March 11 at 11:59 a.m. E.T. Fans can vote once per category, per day. The winner will be revealed on Friday, March 15.

Nominees for all categories are chosen by a panel of relevant experts which include a combination of editors from USA TODAY; editors from 10Best.com; relevant expert contributors; and sources for both these media and other Gannett properties. The nomination panel for each award category is displayed on its associated contest page. All voting is digital and the 10Best Readers' Choice Award contest is accessible on the 10Best.com website.

Louisville Slugger Field opened in 2000 as the new home of the Louisville Bats baseball team. This year marks the 25th year of the ballpark serving as a hub of family entertainment in downtown Louisville. The Bats will celebrate 25 years of the ballpark throughout the 2024 season.

Opening Night at Louisville Slugger Field is slated for Friday, March 29 as the Bats take on the Indianapolis Indians, Triple-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, at 7:15 pm E.T. It will mark the first regular season game played in March in the ballpark’s history. The game will feature a throwback $1 beer happy hour from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The Zooperstars, a ballpark staple over the years, will also perform. In addition, as part of Easter weekend, the night will feature a fish fry. A special fish fry discount will be given to groups who purchase in advance (contact the Bats front office for more information). And, postgame fireworks presented by Humana will cap off the evening.

The Savannah Bananas are set to make their first ever visit to Louisville Slugger Field August 1-3. Fans purchasing any season ticket plan of five games and up will get access to an exclusive priority presale for Bananas tickets. Season Ticket Members will also receive exclusive gifts, including an Elly De La Cruz bobblehead and a Muhammad Ali bobblehead.
