The Reading Fightin Phils were walked-off by the Harrisburg Senators 7-6 on Sunday. The teams went tied at three apiece into the tenth. Reading put up a three spot in the top half to retake the lead. However, they could not get an out in the bottom half as Harrisburg took home the victory.

Reading got on the board first in the second inning. Jonathan Guzman singled up the middle to drive in Carlos De La Cruz.

In the fourth, McCarthy Tatum worked a walk and De La Cruz’s base hit drove him to second. Vito Friscia’s productive out moved Tatum to third and Guzman’s fielder’s choice brought him home. Reading led 2-0.

The R-Phils tacked on another one in the fifth to lead by three. Kevin Vicuna tripled and raced home on Wendell Rijo’s sacrifice fly ball.

Harrisburg got on the board in the sixth with back-to-back doubles by Daniel Johnson and Trey Harris. Harris tried to push for three but Johan Rojas recorded an outfield assist to end the frame. Reading led 3-1.

Jackson Cluff’s RBI double brought in Justin Connell in the seventh to make it just a one run game.

The Senators tied it up on an RBI by Daniel Johnson and a De La Cruz error in right.

The teams were knotted up at three as the game went into extras.

Sal Gozzo began as the ghost runner out on second. Rojas laid down a perfect bunt single that put runners on the corners. Wendell Rijo singled home two runs to take a 5-3 advantage. An error allowed him to reach third and Aldrem Corredor swatted him home for a 6-3 lead.

Cluff started the bottom half of the tenth on second base. Three consecutive singles loaded the bases for Harrisburg. They walked in a run and then Trey Harris doubled in the tying and go-ahead runs to walk it off against the Fightins 7-6.

Mike Adams pitched two clean innings of work out of the gate for the Fightin Phils. He allowed just two hits and struck out one.

Erik Miller sat down all six of the batters he faced with two strikeouts, two groundouts, and two flyouts.

Adam Leverett took the fifth using a big double play to get out of the frame. In the sixth he allowed one run on two hits.

Tyler McKay let up one run on two hits in the seventh. Taylor Lehman did the same in the eighth.

Matt Seelinger set down the side 1-2-3 in the ninth but couldn’t find an out in the tenth. He let two run to scores on a walk and three hits and left with the bases loaded.

McKinley Moore inherited the bases loaded and allowed a line drive for two runs as the Senators walked-off the Fightins.
