Top Prospects Clash as Rumble Ponies Come to Town

Reading to Take on Binghamton for Second Home Series

(Reading, PA) - The Reading Fightin Phils (3-6), Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, are back in FirstEnergy Stadium to take on the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (3-4), Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets. The first game is on Tuesday, April 15 at 6:45 p.m. and kicks off the six-game

(Reading, PA) - The Reading Fightin Phils (3-6), Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, are back in FirstEnergy Stadium to take on the Binghamton Rumble Ponies (3-4), Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets. The first game is on Tuesday, April 15 at 6:45 p.m. and kicks off the six-game series.

Tuesday, April 15 through Thursday, April 17 are Unused Ticket games. Any unused Fightin Phils ticket can be used as general admission thanks to Baseballtown Charities. On Friday, the first 1,000 kids will receive an Andrew Painter bobblehead as we celebrate his return to the mound. On Saturday, the first post-game fireworks show presented by PA Virtual Charter School, Crime Alert Berks County and Penn Medicine Transplant Institute will take place as soon as the game concludes. To wrap up the series on Sunday, the first 1,500 kids will receive a Reading Hot Dogs Replica Jersey thanks to GT Church.

The Fightin Phils are coming off an away series against the Somerset Patriots where they went 3-3, splitting the series with the Patriots, including their first win of the season. RHP Eiberson Castellano made his season debut where he struck out five over his three perfect innings pitched. RHP Griff McGarry had another strong performance for Reading in game eight where he struck out five over four hitless innings.

The Rumble Ponies finished up their home opening series against the Hartford Yard Goats (5-3), Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. The Rumble Ponies won three of the five games, with one game of the series being postponed later in the season. RHP Noah McLean recorded 14 strikeouts across nine innings over his first two starts of the season and has only allowed one run.

In 2024, the Fightin Phils and Rumble Ponies met for a total of 18 times over three series. Reading went 7-11 against Binghamton for the season. Phillies’ top prospect, shortstop Aidan Miller, and Mets’ top prospect, shortstop Jet Williams, will meet in this series. Miller is currently hitting .103 with three hits, one RBI and one home run. Williams is hitting .240 with four hits, three RBI and one home run.

Top 30 New York Mets prospects on the Rumble Ponies include: shortstop Jett Williams, first baseman and outfielder Ryan Clifford, RHP Nolan McLean, RHP Jonah Tong, outfielder Nick Morabito, RHP Jonathan Pintaro and RHP Jack Wenninger.

RHP Moises Chace will start on the mound for Reading on Tuesday and go up against RHP Jonathan Pintaro. RHP Jean Cabrera will go opposite RHP Jonah Tong on Wednesday. For Thursday, LHP Braeden Fausnaught will face off against RHP Jack Wenninger. Friday, RHP Griff McGarry will start opposite LHP Felipe De La Cruz. RHP Nolan McLean will start for Binghamton and their pitcher on Sunday is to be announced along with Reading’s starting pitchers for Saturday and Sunday.

The Fightin Phils will head to Maine following this home series to take on the Portland Sea Dogs, Double-A affiliate of the Red Sox, for the second time this season. Reading returns home on April 29 to kick off the next home series against the Harrisburg Senators, Double-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals.

The Fightin Phils return to the field on Tuesday at 6:45 p.m. against the Binghamton Rumble Ponies. RHP Moises Chace will start for Reading, and he will go opposite RHP Jonathan Pintaro.
