Summerlin, Nev. – The Reno Aces (13-16) were silenced in Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Las Vegas Aviators (14-15), the Triple-A affiliate of the Oakland Athletics, at Las Vegas Ballpark. Reno fell just short in the first matchup, going down 2-1. Despite a stronger effort in the nightcap, the Aces failed to complete a late comeback and fell 9-6.
Andres Chaparro emerged as a key player in both games, going 4-for-5 with one double, one home run, and driving in four runs. In the first game, the 24-year-old’s RBI double accounted for Reno's lone run. He continued to shine in the late game, delivering the first three runs for the Aces, including a two-run shot to right-centerfield in the top of the sixth inning, his seventh of the season.
