RENO, NV — During the 2023 season, Bryce Jarvis' journey saw the Lexington, Kentucky native begin in the Texas League at the Arizona Diamondbacks' Double-A affiliate in Amarillo, Texas, capture success in the Biggest Little City with the Reno Aces, and finish the year as a National League champion.

Joining the BLC Nine after three solid starts for the Sod Poodles, he immediately became a fixture in Reno's rotation. His 92 ⅓ innings ranked third on the team behind Blake Walston (149 ⅓) and Slade Cecconi (116 ⅓ IP). With nearly 100 strikeouts in the offensive haven of the PCL, Jarvis once again flashed his favorable upside.

The 26-year-old right-hander rode an untouchable junior season at Duke into a first-round selection, going 18th overall to the Diamondbacks in the shortened 2020 MLB draft. It hasn't been a completely smooth journey on the mound, but an MLB Debut and a run to the World Series speaks to his resiliency and talent.

"I think any time you can have success, you want more of that feeling," he said. "You know what it feels like so you know what you're doing that works."

A late-season move to the bullpen provided an opportunity to break into the majors. His fastball averaged over 95 mph in the bigs, and his slider flashed plus with a 33% whiff rate. He committed himself to being whatever the Diamondbacks needed, and that desire remains true into 2024.

"(To be) a consistent piece in the big leagues," he said when asked about his goal this year, "help us win a lot of games and hopefully win a World Series."

Every player strives to establish themselves and help their team be the last one standing at the end of October. After his breakthrough 2023 season and Arizona's proximity to winning it all, those dreams are well within reach in 2024.

The Reno Aces will kick off the 2024 season with a three-game trip to Las Vegas beginning on Friday, March 29th. They will play their home opener on Tuesday, April 2nd, when the Sacramento River Cats, the San Francisco Giants Triple-A affiliate, visit Greater Nevada Field at 2:05 p.m. PDT.

Single-game tickets for the 2024 season are available at RenoAces.com, texting "TIXX" to 21003 or calling (775) 334-7000.
