Tacoma, WA – Adrian Del Castillo, Pavin Smith, and Kyle Garlick packed the punch for the Reno Aces (5-6) in an 11-7 loss to the Tacoma Rainiers (9-3) Thursday night at Cheney Stadium.

Del Castillo smashed his fourth homer of the season in the second, a three-run shot that temporarily gave Reno a 4-3 lead. He wasn’t done there, adding two more doubles in the fourth and sixth, with the latter tying the game at six. Smith hit his first home run of the season off the light post beyond right field in the fifth.

Tristin English reached three times with an RBI single and two walks to help snap the lineup out of a brief slump. Kyle Garlick, the PCL’s leader in homers, hit his seventh of the young season to lead off the eighth. Garlick entered the day leading the league in slugging percentage.

Despite the power performance, Reno could not overcome four big swings from Tacoma. The series resumes Friday night at 7:05 p.m. PST.
