Reno, Nev. – It was a busy holiday season on and off the field for the Reno Aces and Arizona Diamondbacks, with weddings, engagements, and free-agent signings kickstarting the new year.
Christmastime was filled with love in the air as a pair of Aces players entered the next chapter in their lives off the field as 2023 D-backs organizational all-star first baseman Tristin English got married along with the engagement of reliever Austin Pope.
Not resting on their laurels coming off their World Series run, the Arizona Diamondbacks, Reno’s parent organization, made two significant free agent signings with the addition of left-handed starter Eduardo Rodriguez and the re-signing of outfielder Lourdes Gurriel, Jr. Both signings will lead to additional competition for spots on the Diamondbacks’ big-league roster and impact who will be on the 2024 Reno Aces squad.
With Spring Training in Scottsdale, Arizona, only six weeks away, the Aces are set to wear three new on-field hats for the 2024 season: a brand-new batting practice cap, Reno Silver Sox, and a new version of the Marvel Defenders of the Diamond cap. The Reno Aces are slated to open the 2024 season on the road in Las Vegas on Friday, March 29th. They will make their home debut at Greater Nevada Field on Tuesday, April 2nd, hosting the Sacramento River Cats, Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, at 2:05 p.m. PDT.
