Initial 2026 Round Rock Express Roster Announced

Texas Rangers Triple-A Affiliate Set to Open the Season on Friday, March 27 at Sugar Land

ROUND ROCK, Texas –The Round Rock Express, in conjunction with the Texas Rangers, announced the club’s preliminary roster on Wednesday afternoon. The preliminary roster is subject to change prior to Opening Day, which is set for Friday, March 27 at 7:05 p.m. as the Express visit the Sugar Land Space

ROUND ROCK, Texas –The Round Rock Express, in conjunction with the Texas Rangers, announced the club’s preliminary roster on Wednesday afternoon. The preliminary roster is subject to change prior to Opening Day, which is set for Friday, March 27 at 7:05 p.m. as the Express visit the Sugar Land Space Cowboys (Houston Astros affiliate) at Constellation Field.

The club features four of the top 30 prospects in the Texas Rangers organization, according to MLB.com. RHP Jose Corniell is the No. 4 prospect while INF Cameron Cauley is labeled as the No. 13 prospect in the organization. RHP Emiliano Teodo checks in at No. 17 and RHP Gavin Collyer rounds out the group as the No. 30 prospect.

For the first time in club history, the Express have a player on the roster that was born and raised in Round Rock. RHP Mason Thompson is set to open the season with the E-Train. Thompson was drafted out of Round Rock High School by the San Diego Padres in the third round of the 2016 MLB Draft. He has appeared in the big leagues over parts of four seasons with the Padres (2021) and Washington Nationals (2021-23, 2025).

The roster features six players born in the state of Texas. RHP Dane Acker (College Station), RHP Aidan Anderson (Port Arthur), Cauley (Houston), RHP Josh Stephan (DeSoto), RHP Trey Supak (Bryan) and Thompson (Round Rock). Cauley won the 2021 5A UIL State Championship at Dell Diamond with Barbers Hill High School.

The roster also includes eight international players. RHP Michel Otañez, Corniell and Teodo hail from the Dominican Republic, RHP Luis Curvelo and C Jose Herrera are Venezuelan and RHP Alexis Díaz is a Puerto Rico native. Two players also represented their countries in the 2026 World Baseball Classic. RHP Cal Quantrill pitched for Canada and OF Alejandro Osuna patrolled the outfield for Mexico.

The preliminary roster includes 31 players, 21 of which have appeared with the Express before. Returning to Round Rock for the 2026 season will be Acker**, LHP Robby Ahlstrom,** Anderson**, RHP Marc Church,** Collyer**,** Corniell, Curvelo, INF Justin Foscue, RHP Peyton Gray, OF Trevor Hauver, OF Michael Helman, C Cooper Johnson, INF Richie Martin Jr., RHP Patrick Murphy, Osuna, Quantrill, RHP Josh Sborz, Stephan, Supak**,** Teodo and OF Aaron Zavala.

In total, 19 of the 31 players have logged Major League service time in their careers, INF Jonah Bride (Athletics, Marlins, Twins), Church (Rangers), Corniell (Rangers), Curvelo (Rangers), Díaz (Reds, Dodgers, Braves), Foscue (Rangers), LHP Austin Gomber (Cardinals, Rockies), Helman (Twins, Rangers), Herrera (Diamondbacks), C Willie MacIver (Athletics), Martin (Orioles), Murphy (Blue Jays, Nationals), Osuna (Rangers), Otañez (Athletics), INF Nick Pratto (Royals), Quantrill (Padres, Guardians, Rockies, Marlins, Braves), Sborz (Dodgers, Rangers), INF Tyler Wade (Yankees, Angels, Athletics, Padres), and Thompson (Nationals).
