SACRAMENTO RIVER CATS NAMED PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE FINALIST FOR THREE MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL END OF YEAR ORGANIZATIONAL AWARDS

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Sacramento River Cats have been named a finalist for three MiLB End of Year Awards; the MiLB Together Award, the Driving Diversity Forward Award, and the Future Star Award.

The MiLB Together Award recognizes a Club that demonstrates an outstanding, ongoing commitment to charitable service, support, and leadership within both their local community and within the baseball industry.

The River Cats have been named a finalist in recognition of their year-round commitment to strengthening the community through service, inclusion and meaningful partnerships. From addressing food insecurity and facilitating hospital visits to expanding access to baseball and investing in local nonprofits, the organization mobilized its staff, players, partners and fans to make a lasting impact across the Sacramento region.

Programs such as Make Change with Change, Cats Care, Baseball for All and the River Cats Foundation demonstrate the club’s belief that community service is central to what the organization represents.

The Driving Diversity Award recognizes a Club that demonstrates a concerted effort to welcome fans of all backgrounds to their ballpark through a variety of programming intended to reach minority groups in their community.

Throughout the season, the River Cats hosted 19 games centered on cultural celebrations and community causes.

Developed alongside local organizations, performers, partners and businesses, these theme nights included Native American Heritage Night, AANHPI Night, Black Heritage Night honoring the Negro Leagues, Hispanic Heritage Night, four Dorados de Sacramento games under Copa de la Diversión; all celebrating the ethnic diversity that makes up the greater Sacramento region.

It also included Pride Night, Faith & Family Night, Heroes Day honoring Armed Forces and First Responders, and 916 Night and Love, Sacramento Night celebrating our local region, featuring exclusive Sacramento artist designed merchandise.

The Future Star Award recognizes the accomplishments of a successful young professional by highlighting their contributions, dedication, and demonstrated leadership potential.

Sacramento nominated Manager of Sports Sales Training, Kallie Harding. Kallie joined the River Cats in January taking over the CATalyst Sports Sales Training program, transforming it from a promising first-year program into a disciplined, revenue-producing career accelerator.

She recruited and hired 13 new members, while also guiding seven of the existing participants to promotions. Through July, the team of first-year staff she manages produced over one-fifth of the club's total sales revenue and nearly quintupled the amount generated by the entire 2025 CATalyst class.

In less than a year, Kallie has multiplied River Cats revenue, built systems, promoted people and strengthened the talent pipeline for the entire industry. What stands out most is that her best work keeps showing up in other people's numbers.

Minor League Baseball will recognize award winners on Tuesday, October 13 at the 2026 MiLB End of Year Awards Show, and at the MiLB Business Summit in Louisville.
