Sean Coyle homered and had two hits, and David Hess allowed just two hits over six innings as the Bowie Baysox (6-3) topped the Senators (4-5) 3-2 on Friday night.
Garrett Cleavinger got Mario Lisson to ground out with a runner on first to end the game for his first save of the season.
Hess (1-0) allowed two runs while striking out four and walking one to pick up the win.
Bowie started the scoring in the first inning when Coyle hit a solo home run.
Neftali Soto homered for the Senators first hit and run in the top of the fourth inning, making the score 3-1 Bowie. The Senators plated a run via a hit and error in the sixth inning to trim the deficit to 3-2. They had the tying run at third and one out, but failed to plate Alec Keller.
Drew Ward went hitless and had his season opening eight-game hitting streak snapped.
Austen Williams (1-1) went five innings, allowing three runs and seven hits in the game. He also struck out three and walked two.
The final game of the three-game series is Saturday afternoon at 2:05 p.m. with RH Greg Ross on the hill for the Senators against LH Tanner Scott for Bowie.
