Keller's Double Leads the Senators over Hartford in 13 innings

Alec Keller hit a two-run double in the top of the 13th inning to lead the Harrisburg Senators (6-5) to a 16-14 win over the Hartford Yard Goats (3-8) on Monday.

The double by Keller scored Yadiel Hernandez and Andrew Stevenson.

Derek Self struck Dillon Thomas out with a runner on second to end the game for his first save of the season.

The Senators scored two runs in the 12th before Hartford answered in the bottom of the inning when Josh Fuentes hit a two-run single to tie the game 14-14.

Keller homered, doubled twice and singled, driving in four runs and scoring a pair in the win. Stevenson doubled and singled four times, scoring four runs and driving in three.

Mark Blackmar (1-1) got the win in relief while Luis Ramirez (0-2) took the loss in the Eastern League game. Blackmar also homered in the game, leading off the 12th inning, to give the Sens a 13-12 lead.

Harrisburg took advantage of some erratic Hartford pitching, drawing a season-high 12 walks in its victory.

In the losing effort, the Yard Goats scored a season-high 14 runs. Ryan McMahon homered, tripled and singled three times, driving in six runs and scoring three for the Yard Goats. Max White singled twice, scoring three runs.

Harrisburg improved to 3-1 against Hartford this season. The game took 5:35 to play and the teams combined to toss over 500 pitches. 

Game two of the four-game series is Tuesday at 7:05 p.m. at Dunkin' Donuts Park in Hartford.
