Taylor Hill to Receive 2013 Rawlings Gold Glove Award

Hill is the second Senator since 2011 to receive award
October 2, 2013

Harrisburg, PA - Yesterday Minor League Baseball™ and Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, Inc., announced the nine Minor League Baseball players who were chosen as recipients of a 2013 Rawlings Gold Glove Award® for defensive excellence at their position and the Harrisburg Senators are pleased to announce that RHP Taylor Hill was among the honorees. Taylor was selected from qualifying players from the 10 domestic-based, full-season Minor Leagues. He will receive his own Rawlings Gold Glove Award, modeled after the iconic award given to Major League Baseball's top defensive players, during the 2014 season.

Hill began the season with Potomac and was promoted to Harrisburg towards the end of June. He started eleven games for the Senators, going 2-7 with a 2.71 ERA in 69.2 innings. Taylor handled his position flawlessly. He had 16 total chances and turned them all into outs, including being part of five double plays which tied for the league lead amongst all Eastern League pitchers. The 24 year-old also appeared in one game with Syracuse. Overall for the season, he handled all 46 chances he had on the mound perfectly. Hill joins Steve Lombardozzi (2011) as the only two Nationals' farm hands to receive this award.

The 2013 Minor League Baseball recipients of the Rawlings Gold Glove Award are as follows:
