Amarillo, TX – The Amarillo Sod Poodles return to HODGETOWN for the first of two, two-week homestands the team will host this year. The fun kicks off will the return of a familiar foe to Sod Poodles fans this year, the Midland RockHounds (Double-A, Oakland) return for their third trip

Amarillo, TX – The Amarillo Sod Poodles return to HODGETOWN for the first of two, two-week homestands the team will host this year. The fun kicks off will the return of a familiar foe to Sod Poodles fans this year, the Midland RockHounds (Double-A, Oakland) return for their third trip to Amarillo so far this year. The Oil Pan Cup rivals have played all nine of their games in the 2022 season at HODGETOWN with the RockHounds holding a 5-4 advantage at the start of this current six-game series.

All the same, family-friendly daily promotions at the ballpark are awaiting fans along with plenty of other fun and exciting promotions and giveaways including back-to-back firework shows on Friday and Saturday night.

22-year MLB Veteran, Hall-of-Famer, World Series Champion, and nine-time All-Star, Goose Gossage will be at the ballpark on Wednesday, June 1 helping promote Grassroots Baseball: Route 66 book along with Grassroots Baseball co-founders Jeff Idelson, and Jean Fruth. Idelson was the former Baseball Hall of Fame President and Fruth is an acclaimed baseball photographer. The first of three giveaways for the week will happen on Thursday, June 3 with the first 1,500 fans receiving a pair of Sod Poodles crew-high socks. The Sod Poodles and HODGETOWN will get tropical for Luau Night on Saturday, June 4 with the team wearing specialty jerseys and a Sod Poodles Hawaiian shirt giveaway. The first week of baseball concludes with the third and final giveaway for the week, a golf visor to the first 1,500 fans through the gates on Sunday.

· Specialty Jerseys – The team will don their first specialty jerseys of the season as part of Luau Night. The Hawaiian-themed Sod Poodles jerseys will be auctioned off during and after the game will all process going towards Children’s Miracle Network.
