AMARILLO, TX (April 1, 2026) – The Colorado Rockies and KOA 850 today announced that Amarillo Sod Poodles broadcaster Zach Goodman will be joining the radio booth in Denver to call games for the Rockies in 2026 and beyond. Joining the Sod Poodles to become the new voice of the Sod Poodles will be Eric Bach, former broadcaster of the Fredericksburg Nationals (Single-A, Washington Nationals).

Goodman, a Denver native, joined the Sod Poodles in late 2024 as the number two voice, calling games alongside former Soddies broadcaster Stefan Caray. He took over the broadcast booth in 2025 as the one and only voice of the Sod Poodles, telling the story of Amarillo’s path to the postseason. With his first scheduled game to call falling on April 4 when the Rockies take on Philadelphia Phillies, Goodman will officially join Jack Corrigan on the KOA Rockies Radio Network. Opening Day in Amarillo on Friday April 3 will be Goodman’s final call with the Sod Poodles before making the move to Colorado.

“We couldn’t be more excited and proud for Zach as he embarks on a new journey in the show,” said Sod Poodles President & General Manager, Tony Ensor. “We have a rich history of bringing the best baseball voices in the country to Amarillo for our fans and sending them on to the big leagues. As a former player himself, Zach brought a unique perspective to his game calls, we just knew we had something special! We wish Zach the best of luck on his new adventure in Colorado. We know he’s going to do amazing things and have a fantastic big league career.”

“I’m beyond grateful for the Sod Poodles organization as well as every fan in Amarillo for their love and support over the last couple of years,” said Goodman. “Amarillo will always have a special place in my heart and I can’t wait for the next step of my career, being able to live out my dream with my hometown team.”

Goodman continues to keep up the trend of former Sod Poodles broadcasters earning big league jobs, as all four of Amarillo’s broadcasters are now calling games with Major League clubs. Sam Levitt (2019-21), the first broadcaster of the Sod Poodles, now calls games on the radio for the San Diego Padres. Chris Caray (2022-23) and Stefan Caray (2022-2024), twin brothers and great grandsons of Hall of Fame broadcaster Harry Caray, are now calling games for the Athletics and St. Louis Cardinals, respectively.

Joining Goodman on his final call in Amarillo will be new Sod Poodles broadcaster for 2026, Eric Bach. A Coldwater, Mich. native and graduate of Michigan State University, Bach joins the Sod Poodles from the Fredericksburg Nationals as their former Broadcasting and Media Relations Manager. He has been the voice of the FredNats since 2023 and was voted as the Carolina League Broadcaster of the Year by his peers in 2024 on the FredNats run to the Carolina League Championship. He made his Major League broadcasting debut in September 2025, filling in for the Washington Nationals in the booth.

“We’re incredibly lucky to be able to bring in yet another rising star in the radio booth in Eric Bach,” said Ensor. “Not only has Eric done incredible work with the Fredericksburg Nationals, he brings big league experience to the table and has an incredible feel for the moment and knows what it takes to be an excellent broadcaster. I have no doubts that our fans will welcome Eric, the next great baseball voice of the Sod Poodles, with open arms and enjoy hearing his calls on our local radio waves throughout the summer.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to begin this incredible Amarillo adventure,” said Bach. “The Sod Poodles are one of the biggest and best brands in Minor League Baseball, and it’s an honor to follow in the footsteps of so many amazing voices that have set a standard of excellence. I’m thankful for Tony Ensor and the rest of the Sod Poodles organization for their faith in me as well as my friends and colleagues in Fredericksburg for four amazing years together. I can’t wait to get to HODGETOWN and get to work on telling the stories of future Diamondbacks and the Amarillo community!”

Details on media availability for both Zach Goodman and Eric Bach will be available soon.

Opening Day is scheduled for Friday, April 3 with the Sod Poodles taking on the visiting Springfield Cardinals (Double-A, St. Louis Cardinals) at 7:05 p.m. to kick off a three-game set at HODGETOWN.
