North Augusta, SC - There was four innings of constant offense. Then it was five innings of bullpen brilliance.

The GreenJackets fell behind 4-0, but climbed back and won 6-5 on Thursday night. James Acuna, Alec Barger and Justin Yeager didn't allow an earned run in seven innings out of the bullpen. They surrendered just one hit.

The game started in an hour and 19-minute delay because of inclement weather.

When the rain died down, Myrtle Beach scored four runs in the second inning. The GreenJackets offense scored four of their own in the home-half of the inning. Ricardo Rodriguez hit a two-run home run to get the party started and cut the Myrtle Beach lead in half.

Later in the inning, Bunnell hit into a fielder's choice to make it 4-3. He'd then get caught in a rundown, and Stephen Paolini stole home to tie the game at four.

Myrtle Beach added a run in the third inning on a Matt Warkentin ground ball. In the home-half, Bryson Horne homered to tie the game at five. In the fourth inning, Cam Shepherd gave the GreenJackets the lead for good with an RBI single scoring Stephen Paolini.

Acuna went three innings allowing one run. It was an unearned run.

Barger went the next 2.2 innings. He retired all eight he faced. Yeager came in to get the four-out save.

The GreenJackets did not have a hit the last 4.1 innings against Alberto Sojo and Adam Laskey. Augusta is now 6-3 on the homestand and they have taken two of three from Myrtle Beach.

NOTES:

  • James Acuna earned his first professional win.
  • Bryson Horne hit his sixth home run of the year.
  • Justin Yeager earned his second save of the year.
