Blue Jays option Jonathan Diaz to Herd

Toronto promotes Bisons Gose, Tolleson

The Toronto Blue Jays today announced that they have recalled OF ANTHONY GOSE and selected the contract of INF STEVE TOLLESON from the Buffalo Bisons. Toronto also announced that they have optioned INF JONATHAN DIAZ to the Bisons roster.

DIAZ, 29, played 22 games with the Blue Jays this season and hit .176 (6-34) with four RBI and three runs scored. He collected his first career Major League hit and RBI on April 1 against the Tampa Bay Rays. Diaz appeared at both second base and shortstop for the Blue Jays and did not commit an error in 105.1 innings in the field.

Diaz spent most of last season with the Pawtucket Red Sox and hit .253 (84-332) with 11 doubles, two home runs, 31 RBI and 45 runs scored in 101 games. He made just five errors all season for the PawSox.

This is Gose's second promotion to the Blue Jays this season as he was the 26th man for their April 17 doubleheader in Minnesota. For the Bisons, Gose has hit .234 (16-68) with three doubles, seven RBI and four stolen bases in 19 games.

Tolleson has hit .236 (17-72) with two doubles, a home run, nine RBI and a team-high six stolen bases in 19 games for the Bisons.
