BUFFALO, NY – The Buffalo Bisons used a four-run first inning to cruise past the Rochester Red Wings 6-1 on Saturday evening at ESL Ballpark.
Davis Schneider had an outstanding game, going three-for-four and scoring three times. His three-run home run in the first inning was his seventh of the season.
Buffalo took a quick 4-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Schneider launched a three-run home run that scored Josh Smith and Lenyn Sosa, and William Simoneit followed with an RBI single that scored Nick Goodwin.
Rochester cut the deficit to 4-1 in the bottom of the third on a solo home run by Maxwell Romero Jr.
Bisons starting pitcher Austin Marozas worked three and one-third innings, striking out five with only one earned run.
Ricky Tiedemann worked one and two-thirds scoreless innings for Buffalo, striking out two.
Buffalo extended their lead to 5-1 in the top of the seventh on an RBI single by Ismael Munguia that scored Schneider.
Pat Gallagher gave up zero hits in two and one-third innings, striking out four.
The Bisons made it 6-1 in the top of the ninth on an RBI double by Yohendrick Pinango that scored Schneider.
