In just his second week at the Triple-A level, Buffalo third baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has earned International League Batter of the Week honors for the week August 6-12.
Guerrero Jr. continues to capture the attention of the baseball world with his impressive minor league campaign that is now two weeks in with the Herd. During the Bisons last homestand, the slugger averaged .458 (11-24) with a double, four home runs, five RBI and a 1.000 slugging pct. His home runs came in four consecutive games, August 8-11, falling just shy of the Herd's all-time record of five straight games set by four individuals.
Vladdy's week started with back-to-back three hit games against the Gwinnett Braves. His third hit on August 8 was his first career Triple-A home run as he launched a titanic blast to centerfield in the fifth inning of a 6-1 Bisons win.

Guerrero's home run on August 9 was a missile down the left field line that got out in a hurry.

Vladdy then wasted little time during the Bisons fridaynightbash! game against Toledo, hitting the third pitch he saw in the first inning over the wall in left.

Then, in front of 15,615 at the Bisons annual Superhero Night game on Saturday, Guerrero Jr. picked up his first opposite field home run.

What's even more impressive might be that Guerrero Jr. struck out just twice all week and still has twice as many walks (8) as strikeouts (4) in his Bisons career.
The Bisons have one more homestand left for fans to catch Guerrero Jr. in action. The team returns home August 21-27 for the final seven games of the year. CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS
