Homestand Preview: August 29-September 3

COLUMBIA, SC – The Fireflies head home for one final homestand in the 2023 and they’ll welcome the Delmarva Shorebirds, the Baltimore Orioles Class-A Affiliate to town to close out August and a successful 2023 season.

The Shorebirds have stumbled in the second-half and currently represent the cellar of the North Division. Despite that, they’re well represented in the prospect department. 17^th overall pick in the 2023 MLB Draft, Enrique Bradfield Jr. from Vanderbilt has already left his impact on the league, hitting .314 with an .881 OPS in his first 11 games in the circuit. They also boast third baseman Mac Horvath from the second-round of this year’s draft. Horvath is hitting .238 in his first six games, but has three extra-base hits out of five total hits. Finally, they have 2021 Charleston RiverDog Seth Johnson, who was acquired by the O’s in the Trey Mancini Trade last year. Johnson has worked one outing for one inning this year after coming back from Tommy John surgery.

Trash the Poop Dog Days of Summer and White Claw Wednesday: Do you love going to Fireflies games, but hate leaving your dog at home? Then Wednesday is the day for you, when courtesy of Trash the Poop, you can bring your leashed and rabies vaccinated dog with you to the ballpark with the purchase of a berm ticket. It’s also a White Claw Wednesday, where fans can enjoy $5 16 oz cans of White Claw at Segra Park.

Budweiser Thirsty Thursday and USC Night Presented by EF Martin: Come to Segra Park this week and enjoy the best drink special the Midlands has to offer! Our deal is as simple as 1-2-3. Enjoy $1 fountain sodas, $2 domestic drafts and $3 craft drafts and cocktails at Segra Park each and every Thursday evening the Fireflies are playing. If that weren’t enough, we’re giving away a glow in the dark USC Rally Towel to the first 1,000 fans through the gates thanks to EF Martin as we’re celebrating USC Night on the way to tailgating and football season!

Grateful Dead Night Presented by The Howling Dog Collective: Columbia, your favorite theme night returns to Segra Park to help close out 2023 on a strong note! We’ll pull out all the stops for Grateful Dead Night this year, thanks to The Howling Dog Collective. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a Grateful Dead T-Shirt, there’ll be live music within the ballpark during the game and stick around after the game for a Grateful Dead-themed fireworks show!

Retro Video Game Night Presented by LEGO DreamZzz: LEGO enthusiasts will HAVE to come to this game because we’re giving fans an opportunity to build their own LEGO sets! We’ll also host a video game-themed nine innings of giving where fans can win prizes including a 75” TV and an old school Pac-Man arcade game. Fans must be in attendance to win. If that weren’t enough, we’re also hosting a post-game fireworks show!

Fan Appreciation Night: It’s our typical Sunday-Funday, but with a twist this year! We’ll hace endless specials and experiences. Fans can enjoy $2 popcorn, fountain sodas, Miller Lit cans and domestic draft beers as well as $3 craft draft beers and $5 White Claw. We’ll also have pre-game catch on the field from 4-4:20, post-game whole team autographs, post-game fireworks, post-game kids run the bases courtesy of Bang Back Pinball Lounge and one final Nine innings of Giving, where we’ll give away random theme jerseys to fans in attendance throughout the game.
