Shorebirds Donate over $2,750 to Humane Society of Wicomico County

SALISBURY, MD – Throughout the 2023 baseball season, the Delmarva Shorebirds Wag Your Tail Tuesday promotion brought in over $2,500 worth of pet supplies that was donated to the Humane Society of Wicomico County. In addition, through the generosity of Shorebirds fans given during Wag Your Tail Tuesdays, the Shorebirds are donating $250 of monetary donations to further support the Humane Society.

The Delmarva Shorebirds hosted Wag Your Tail Tuesdays where, starting on June 6^th, fans were able to bring their dog to the ballpark. All dogs got in free to the game with the donation of items such as paper towels, toys, dog food, and treats. The collected items were then donated to the Humane Society of Wicomico County at the end of the season.

“The Shorebirds are proud to be able to support causes like the Humane Society of Wicomico County and continue to help those in need in our community,” said Shorebirds Community Relations Manager Becky Trader. “We look forward to seeing the dogs every week and are glad to be able to provide an atmosphere open to the whole family.”

The Shorebirds also accepted cash donations from fans throughout the season. These donations totaled $250 which was given to the Humane Society of Wicomico County to continue to support their mission and find forever homes for dogs in need.

In total, the Shorebirds were able to raise over $2,750 in supplies and monetary donations for the Humane Society of Wicomico County.
