*SALISBURY, MD: *The Delmarva Shorebirds (7-5) were defeated by the Fredericksburg Nationals (5-7) by a score of 8-4 on Thursday night.
The Fred Nats scored three runs in the second inning on RBIs by Wilmer Perez, John McHenry, and Johnathon Thomas to make it 3-0 Nationals after two innings.
They'd score another run in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Cortland Lawson as Thomas scored from third on the play to put Delmarva in a 4-0 hole.
But it would take one swing of the bat in the sixth for the Shorebirds to tie the game as Anderson De Los Santos cranked a grand slam over the left field wall to even the game at four.

With the game still tied at four in the eighth, the Nationals retook the lead on a pair of throwing errors by Delmarva to put the 'Birds behind 6-4.
The deficit would double itself in the ninth inning on a two-run shot by Johnathon Thomas, making 8-4 Fredericksburg, and they would go on to win by that to take a 2-1 advantage in the series.
Mason Denaburg (4-3) was the winner in relief for Fredericksburg with Angel Vargas (0-1) taking the loss for the Shorebirds. Bubba Hall (1) earned the save.
Delmarva's offense was highlighted by Anderson De Los Santos' grand slam in the sixth inning that tied the game, and Noelberth Romero who collected two more hits on Thursday for his third consecutive multi-hit game this week.
The Shorebirds will look to even the series with the Nationals once again on Friday night as Zack Showalter gets the ball against Brad Lord for Fredericksburg. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
