*CHARLESTON, SC: *The Delmarva Shorebirds (18-15) evened the series with the Charleston RiverDogs (14-21) with a 6-4 win on a rainy night at the Joe.

After a 1 hour and 23-minute rain delay, the Shorebirds found themselves in a hole early as the RiverDogs came out and scored four runs in the bottom of the first on a two-run single by Jhon Diaz, and two-RBI triple by Odalys Peguero to quickly make it 4-0.

But starting pitcher, Deivy Cruz would rebound by tossing three-straight scoreless innings, helping the offense begin their comeback. They'd cut the deficit in half in the top of the fourth as Luis Gonzalez drove in two with a single, Stiven Acevedo and Adam Crampton both scored on the play making it a 4-2 game.

In the sixth, the Shorebirds pulled within a run on an RBI double by Adam Crampton as Douglas Hodo touched home.

An inning later, Delmarva came through for their best inning of the night to take the lead, starting with a game-tying RBI single by Carter Young to score Elio Prado, evening the game at four. A fielder's choice off the bat of Anderson De Los Santos brought in Samuel Basallo from third to spring the Shorebirds ahead by a score of 5-4. They'd add one more in the inning on a single by Douglas Hodo with De Los Santos coming in from second base to give Delmarva an advantage of 6-4.

Juan De Los Santos then carried the Shorebirds to the finish line by pitching the final five innings, not allowing any hits and striking out a new season-high of six batters as he held the lead to complete a 6-4, come-from-behind victory against the Riverdogs.

De Los Santos (1-3) earned his first win of the season with Charleston reliever Jack Hartman (1-2) taking the loss.

The Shorebirds offense came together on Wednesday for 12 hits with eight of the nine players in the starting lineup picking up at least one. Elio Prado, Douglas Hodo, Adam Crampton, and Luis Gonzalez led the way with two hits each. The offense registered five doubles with Adam Crampton matching his personal best with two for the second time this season.

Delmarva will now look to take the series lead against Charleston on Thursday night with Bradley Brehmer getting the start against Trevor Martin for Charleston with first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
