Reed Garrett becomes 150th former Riders to reach majors

FRISCO, Texas (March 30, 2019) - Right-handed pitcher Reed Garrett became the 150th former Frisco RoughRiders player to reach the Major Leagues when he debuted with the Detroit Tigers Friday night in Toronto.
Garrett worked a perfect eighth inning for the Tigers in his debut, racking up his first big-league strikeout along the way. He was selected by Detroit in the Rule draft last December.
The Virginia native pitched for the Riders from 2016-2018, making a few jumps to Triple-A in the process as well. In 2018, he was named a Texas League Midseason and Postseason All-Star after notching a 1.69 ERA and 16 saves in 35 outings. He ranks on the franchise's all-time leaderboard in games (5th, 105), saves (3rd, 26) and strikeouts (T8th, 195).
