Cavalli sharp in Senators 6-4 loss to Portland

The Senators lost to Portland 6-4 Saturday night at Hadlock Field in Portland for the second consecutive game in walk-off fashion. Harrisburg scored first tallying two runs in the second inning. Eventually trailing 4-2 into the ninth inning when the Sens tied the game at four only to fall 6-4 in the last of the ninth on a walk-off home run.

ON CAPITAL HILL

Cade Cavalli had his best start with the Senators. He went six innings, allowed five hits and an unearned run. He struck out seven and walked two. At one point he struck out for straight batters between the first and second innings.

Ryan Tapani started the seventh, facing five batters without retiring any of them.

Pearson McMahan was the tough luck loser. He went two innings and allowed two hits and two runs. He inherited a bases-loaded no out situation in the seventh and allowed just one inherited runner to score.

WITH THE GAVEL

Gilbert Lara tied the game with a two-run double in the ninth inning. He also had an RBI groundout.

Jake Alu had a hit and scored twice.

FILIBUSTERS

Harrisburg turned two more double plays for 11 in the series. The walk-off loss was the sixth this year for the Senators. Tripp Keister was ejected in the sixth inning after a controversial call interference call on Jake Alu.
