Senators to Play the Hagerstown Suns on April 5
The game, a spring training type of scrimmage, is expected to be the debut in Hagerstown of Bryce Harper. Harper, the Nationals number one draft choice last season, did not appear in a game for a Nats affiliate last year. However, he played in the Arizona Fall League for former Sens manager, Randy Knorr.
"We are excited to put this exhibition game together with two very important and valued franchises within our organization", said Doug Harris, Washington Nationals Player Development Director. "It is not only an opportunity for us to continue our preparation as the season approaches but also gives the fans in Harrisburg a chance to see the players of the future as well as Suns fans to reconnect with many of the players who have called Hagerstown home in the past."
Tickets for this game will be available for sale beginning March 15 through the Hagerstown Suns. The Senators will not be selling tickets to the game this year. Ticket prices are $5 and are available in person or by calling the Suns at 301-791-6266. Hagerstown is approximately an hour from Harrisburg and will be the first opportunity for Senators fans to see their 2011 team.
The historic 25th season of Senators baseball opens on Thursday, April 7 at 7:00pm against the Bowie Baysox (Orioles). Individual game tickets go on sale on March 12 at 10am in person or online through the Senators website. Season tickets, mini-plans, and group tickets are currently available by either going online at www.senatorsbaseball.com or by phoning the Senators at 717-231-4444.
