JERSEY SHORE, NJ - Two Phillies prospects, pitchers Spencer Howard and Mick Abel, were ranked among Baseball America's Top 100 prospects, which were revealed earlier this week (click here to view).

Spencer Howard (#27), a 2018 BlueClaws pitcher, and Mick Abel (#99), the Phillies first-round pick in the 2020 draft, made Baseball America's list.

Howard made his big league debut on August 9th, becoming the 98th player to go From the Shore to the Show (full list here). With the BlueClaws in 2018, Howard was 9-8 with a 3.78 ERA and 147 strikeouts in 112 innings. He threw a no-hitter in Game Two of the South Atlantic League Northern Division Championship Series to put the BlueClaws into the finals for the fifth time in franchise history.

Abel was the 15th overall pick in the 2020 draft out of Jesuit High School in Portland, Oregon. He is slated to make his minor league debut this year. He had been committed to Oregon State before signing with the Phillies. Click here for more on Abel from MLB.com's draft profile.

After Baseball America released their list of their Top Ten Phillies prospects, we spoke with BA's Chris Hilburn-Trenkle about the list and other Phillies prospects.
