June 17, 2015

Reno - The Reno Aces (@Aces), in conjunction with the Arizona Diamondbacks (@Dbacks), have announced the promotion of right-handed pitcher Aaron Blair (@A_Blair19) from Double-A Mobile to Reno.

Blair, 23, went 6-3 with a 2.70 ERA in 13 starts for the BayBears this season. He allowed three earned runs or less in 12 of those outings, and he worked at least five innings in all 13 of them.

The Las Vegas native began last season at Low-A South Bend but earned promotions to Advanced-A Visalia and Mobile to close out his 2014 campaign. He finished 9-5 with a 3.56 ERA in 27 starts across the three levels.

Blair was drafted by the Diamondbacks in the first round (No. 36 overall) of the 2013 MLB June Amateur Draft out of Marshall University. He was rated as Arizona's No. 3 overall prospect by both Baseball America and MLB.com entering the 2015 season.

In a corresponding move, Aces infielder Danny Worth was placed on the 7-day disabled list. Worth currently leads the Pacific Coast League in batting average (.365).
