HARTFORD- Peter Lambert loves an audience. The Colorado Rockies second round draft choice in 2015, became the first Yard Goats pitcher in history to throw a nine-inning complete game, pitching a four-hitter, in Hartford's 11-1 win over the Altoona Curve Saturday night. Lambert tossed his gem, before a capacity crowd of 6,850 at Dunkin' Donuts Park. It was Hartford's second straight capacity crowd and 15th sellout of the year. The Yard Goats have drawn 172,289 this season to lead the Eastern League.
Lambert retired the lead off hitter in all but one inning, walked one and struck out four. He retired the side in order in the ninth inning and set down 12 of the last 13 Curve hitters. The right hander, who threw 102 pitches, even delivered at the plate with an RBI-double in the eighth inning.
Hartford (27-29) pounded out 15 hits to snap a season-high seven-game losing streak. Sam Hilliard, just off the disabled list, led the way with three hits, including a home run and two RBI. Brendan Rodgers added three hits, an RBI, three runs scored and two stolen bases. Forrest Wall homered and tripled, while Ryan Metzler had a single, double and two RBI and Brian Mundell added two hits.
The Yard Goats never looked back, after taking a 2-0 lead in the first inning on Hilliard's two-run homer. Scoring in every odd inning, the Goats, playing as Los Chivos De Hartford, added two more runs in the third inning on Wall's first Double-A home run and a double play ground out.
Hartford scored two more runs in the fifth and batted around in the seventh to complete the scoring with five runs.
The Yard Goats look for the series' win, when the homestand wraps up Sunday afternoon at 1:05. RHP Chris Jensen will pitch for the Yard Goats against RHP Pedro Vasquez for Altoona.  The game will be televised on Vantage Sportsnet, broadcast on AM 1410 WPOP and streamed on newsradio.1410.com and MiLB.com.
