OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Round Rock Express (36-32) took down the Oklahoma City Dodgers (42-26) by a final score of 1-0 on Wednesday evening at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

LHP Cole Ragans (2-0, 1.38) earned the win for Round Rock after 6.0 innings of shutout baseball. He allowed only two hits, issued two walks and struck out seven. Oklahoma City reliever RHP Dellin Betances (0-1, 0.00) earned the loss after a 1.0-inning performance that saw one unearned run. He did not allow a hit. RHP Josh Sborz (1-0, 0.00) earned his first save of the season. He pitched a scoreless ninth inning and struck out the side.

Along the Train Tracks:

  • Round Rock threatened in the third inning. 2B Diosbel Arias singled with one out. SS Ryan Dorow came up next and walked. LF Steele Walker collected a walk with two outs to load the bases. RHP Michael Grove got out of the inning as DH Nick Solak grounded out.
  • LHP Cole Ragans got out of a jam in the third inning to keep the game scoreless. With one out, CF Drew Avans walked and LF Miguel Vargas was hit by a pitch, but 3B Jake Lamb grounded into a double play.
  • CF Bubba Thompson reached base to start the sixth inning on an error from Lamb at third base. Thompson stole second base before Walker popped out for the first out of the inning. The speedster stole third base and Solak hit a sacrifice fly to give Round Rock the 1-0 advantage.
  • RHP Josh Sborz struck out the first two batters he faced in the ninth inning. RF Jason Martin earned a walk, but Sborz struck out the side to end the evening and the E-Train took home a 1-0 win.

E-Train Excerpts:

  • The Express collected their second shutout of the season on Wednesday as they allowed only three hits. LHP Cole Ragans dealt 6.0 innings and allowed two hits. RHP Jonathan Hernández went 1.0-inning and allowed one hit. RHP Spencer Patton and RHP Josh Sborz each tossed 1.0-inning without allowing a hit.
  • Wednesday marked the sixth time Bubba Thompson has stolen two or more bases in a game this year. He leads the Pacific Coast League with 35 stolen bases and has taken third base 10 times.
