ROUND ROCK, Texas – Welcome to The Show, D-Bob! The Texas Rangers announced that the club selected the contract of Round Rock Express RHP Daniel Robert on Monday afternoon. Robert will be available out of the Texas bullpen tonight as the Rangers take on the Los Angeles Angels at Angel Stadium at 8:38 p.m. CT.

Robert has been with the Express for parts of the last three seasons. Among pitchers in the Pacific Coast League with at least 30.0 innings pitched, he is fourth with a 2.35 ERA (8 ER/30.2 IP). He has posted seven walks and 40 strikeouts this year and his five saves are the most of any season in his professional career.

Robert did not allow an earned run for 19.0 innings from May 22-July 4. He also allowed only four hits during the stretch. The right-hander issued at least one walk in four of his first five outings but he issued only two walks in his last 20 appearances. Six of the eight runs he allowed this year came at the hands of the Sugar Land Space Cowboys (Houston Astros affiliate).

The Hoover, Alabama native joined the Express in 2022. Over 2022 and 2023 with Round Rock, he owned a 5.29 ERA (48 ER/81.2 IP) with 50 walks and 99 strikeouts. Since the start of the 2022 season, Robert has appeared in 90 games which is second-most behind former Express RHP Yerry Rodríguez (98).

Robert was selected in the 21st round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Rangers. He played his collegiate baseball at Auburn University where he was primarily a position player and led the team in RBIs his senior year. He made only 11 appearances on the mound during his college career.

Round Rock hits the road to take on the Reno Aces (Arizona Diamondbacks affiliate) for six-game series beginning tomorrow at Greater Nevada Field. First pitch is scheduled for 2:05 p.m. CT.
