Box Score I Play-by-Play

  • The No. 6 prospect in the Mets organization, J.T. Ginn was terrific in his Cyclones debut. The 22-year-old faced two over the minimum through 5.0 innings before allowing a two-out, two-strike RBI double to Jacob Rhinesmith as his only blemish. Ginn allowed one run on five hits with no walks while striking out six.
  • Evy Ruibal entered the game in the ninth inning with the bases loaded and nobody out to earn the save, stranding the tying and go-ahead runs on base to win the game 5-4.
  • Luis Gonzalez doubled in a run and scored a second in the second inning as the Cyclones took a 2-0 lead over Wilmington starter Mitchell Parker.
  • Down 4-1 in the seventh, Omar Meregildo’s two-run slam over the left-field wall pulled Wilmington to within one run at 4-3.
