BUFFALO, NY — Wrapping up a six-game set from Sahlen Field, the Buffalo Bisons defeated the St. Paul Saints 2-1 to take the series four games to two.

Nick Allgeyer made his second start since coming off the injured list and went 2.2 innings while throwing 33 pitches. The only blemish on the outing was a solo homer given up to Jake Cave in the first.

The Bisons were completely shut down for the first four innings, as Saints starter Mario Sanchez was perfect through 4.1 innings of work. Stevie Berman finally broke it up with a single in the fifth, but it wasn’t until the sixth when the Bisons got on the board.

After a single by Chavez Young to open up the inning, Logan Warmoth went deep two batters later to take the lead, his first home run since May 27. Sanchez ultimately went six innings and allowed two runs off three hits, while striking out six and walking none.

Tayler Saucedo, Eric Yardley, Bowden Francis, and Graham Spraker all had scoreless outings and combined to give up just three hits over 4.2 innings.

Derek Holland took over for Spraker and got the final two outs in the eighth before sticking around and finishing things off in the ninth to record the five-out save, with four of those outs coming via the strikeout.

The Bisons will enjoy an off day tomorrow before hitting the road to take on the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders for a six-game set beginning on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 6:35 p.m. EST.
