Blue Jays' Devon Travis to join Herd Thursday
Toronto Blue Jays 2B DEVON TRAVIS is scheduled to join the Buffalo Bisons on Thursday to continue his MLB injury rehab assignment. The Herd hosts the Pawtucket Red Sox on Thursday at 6:05 p.m.
Travis, who had left shoulder surgery in late October, joined Single-A Dunedin on May 13 to begin his rehab assignment. He has hit safely in all four games he's played, with a .357 (5-14) average, two doubles, five RBI and a walk. Travis played three games at second base and one as Dunedin's designated hitter.
Travis made a pair of rehab assignments with the Bisons last season, hitting a combined .219 (7-32) with a double and six walks. He hit .304 in 62 games with Toronto, adding 18 doubles, eight home runs and 35 RBI. He was named AL Rookie of the Month in April of 2015, but did not play after July 31 because of shoulder inflammation.
