The Columbia Fireflies are teaming up with Harvest Hope Food Bank for "Hits for Hope" — a food drive initiative taking place on each of this season's three Carolina Grits Sundays, giving fans the opportunity to make a real difference while enjoying a day at Segra Park.
On three special Sundays in 2026, the Fireflies will transform into the Carolina Grits, the team's food identity alternate identity, and pair that local flavor with a cause that hits close to home. Each Carolina Grits game will serve as a collection point for non-perishable food donations, with every item going directly to Harvest Hope Food Bank to support families facing food insecurity across South Carolina.
Better yet, the Fireflies are offering a reward for giving back: fans who bring two non-perishable food items to the gate will receive a free bag of popcorn. A small thank-you for a big-hearted act.
The Fireflies will adopt their fan-favorite Grits identity on Sunday, May 17, Sunday, July 26 and Sunday, August 23. All three games are scheduled to start at 5:05 pm.
How to participate
Participating is as simple as it gets. Pack a couple of extra non-opened and non-perishable items from your pantry, bring them to the ballpark and know that you're feeding a family right here in the Midlands.
Bring those to the gate at Segra Park on any of the three Carolina Grits Sundays (May 17, July 26 or August 23). Then, collect your free popcorn as a thank-you from the Fireflies and Harvest Hope.
