RENO, Nev. – The Reno Aces (7-19, 44-57) dropped four of six matchups to the Oklahoma City Comets (17-10, 63-39), the Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, in this past week’s series at Greater Nevada Field.

After dropping the first three games, the BLC-Nine bounced back with a 6-5 comeback win on Friday night. Trailing by two runs entering the sixth inning, Reno erupted for a six-run frame that flipped the script. Gavin Logan delivered the swing of the night with a two-out grand slam—his third homer of the season and second in as many games—to give the Aces a four-run cushion. Dylan Ray turned in the longest start by an Ace this season, holding the Comets to three runs over 7 1/3 innings. The right-hander walked one, struck out two, and lowered his ERA to 6.20. Ray has now pitched at least six innings in five of his last six starts, including three quality outings.

Reno picked up their next win of the series in Sunday’s series finale behind a strong performance from Bryce Jarvis, who allowed just one run across 5 2/3 innings while striking out five. The bullpen took it the rest of the way, tossing 3 1/3 innings and giving up just one run with five walks and five strikeouts. Seth Brown paced the offense, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI. He opened the scoring with an RBI double in the first and widened the lead in the fifth with a two-run double into the left-center gap. The veteran outfielder carries a red-hot .376/.438/.761 slash line into next week’s series against Las Vegas.

Gavin Logan continued his tear at the plate, going 3-for-11 (.273) with two home runs and six RBI in three games. In eight games with the Aces this season, the backstop is slashing .407/.452/.852 with three doubles, three home runs, and nine RBI.

Rene Pinto also had a productive week, going 6-for-14 with a double and five RBI. His biggest swing came Friday, when he opened the scoring with a two-run double into left-center. In 41 games with Reno this season, the 28-year-old is hitting .277/.320/.509 with 16 doubles, seven homers, and 35 RBI.

The Aces now hit the road for a two-week trip, beginning with a six-game set against the Las Vegas Aviators. First pitch is scheduled for Tuesday, July 29 at 7:05 p.m. PST.
