RENO, Nev. – The Reno Aces (30-20, 65-60) took four out of six matchups in a series victory over their Silver State Rivals, the Las Vegas Aviators (25-25, 62-63) this past week at Greater Nevada Field. Reno also captured the season series with an 11-10 record against their in-state rivals.

The Aces started the series with a bang, securing a quick lead in Tuesday's opener. Tommy Henry's stellar performance, shutting down the Aviators lineup through 5 1/3 scoreless frames, set the tone for the rest of the series. Austin Pope, Jose Castillo, and Slade Cecconi's bullpen support further solidified the Aces' lead, limiting Las Vegas to one run.

Home runs by Tristin English and the recently promoted Tim Tawa were the biggest highlights in Thursday's 7-3 victory. However, Albert Almora completed a late comeback as he delivered a clutch two-out, two-RBI double in the seventh inning to give the Aces the lead they needed to come away with the win. Humberto Castellanos took a no-decision on Thursday but was efficient on the mound, tossing 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball with one walk and three punchouts.

The Aces' unity was evident in Friday's crucial 8-5 victory. The win pushed the BLC-Nine into first place in the Pacific Coast League in the second half. Almora, Tawa, and Kyle Garlick were the main contributors, each collecting two RBIs. Almora tallied three hits, including a two-RBI double to cap off the scoring in the seventh. This collective effort and teamwork make the Aces a force to be reckoned with.

Sunday's series finale was not just a victory but a historic one. The Aces put away the Aviators in a commanding 21-3 win, marking the largest margin of victory in franchise history. Notably, Ronaldo Hernandez and Bryson Brigman smashed a pair of grand slams in the fifth frame, the first time in Aces history that two players hit a grand slam in the same inning. Tristin English continued an incredible month of August, roping his 14th home run to get the offense going in the fourth. After a three-hit performance, Jorge Barrosa's four RBI further added to the team's achievements. These milestones are a testament to the Aces' hard work and dedication, making us all proud.

Tommy Henry capped off a two-start week on Sunday, limiting Las Vegas to one run across six frames with two walks and six punchouts. On the week, the lefty allowed just one run in 11 1/3 innings with 11 strikeouts. Henry has owned the Pacific Coast League in August, leading the league in ERA (2.22), wins (4), strikeouts (38), and innings pitched (28.) this month. Look for the southpaw to keep his momentum in the upcoming series against the Albuquerque Isotopes,

Reno will now hit the road and travel to Albuquerque to take on the Isotopes, the Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, with the series opener set for Tuesday, August 27th, with the first pitch scheduled for 5:35 p.m. PT.

The Aces return to Greater Nevada Field on Tuesday, September 3rd, to host the El Paso Chihuahuas, the San Diego Padres Triple-A affiliate, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. PT.
