Tommy Henry Named PCL Pitcher of the Week

RENO, Nev. – Left-handed pitcher Tommy Henry has been named the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week after a stellar outing out of the bullpen on Saturday. Following Corbin Burnes’ first rehab start, Henry handled the bulk of the night turning in five scoreless innings of work in relief.

RENO, Nev. – Left-handed pitcher Tommy Henry has been named the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week after a stellar outing out of the bullpen on Saturday.

Following Corbin Burnes’ first rehab start, Henry handled the bulk of the night turning in five scoreless innings of work in relief. He struck out four and allowed just two hits on 63 pitches en route to his fifth victory of the season.

The Michigan native is just the third different Aces pitcher in franchise history to throw five scoreless innings in relief, and first since Edgar Alberto Garcia in 2016. The outing also marks his second appearance in August in which he tossed five shutout frames (also August 12 at Tacoma).

Henry holds the all-time Aces records for strikeouts and games started and is one of just five players in team history to accumulate 20 career victories. Now, he gets to add his first career PCL Pitcher of the Week to his many accolades during his Reno career.

The Aces hit the road to begin September, heading to Sugar Land for a six-game series with the Sugar Land Space Cowboys, Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros.
