San Francisco Giants Announce Sandoval Scheduled to Rehab in San Jose

SAN JOSE, CA - The San Francisco Giants have announced third baseman Pablo Sandoval is scheduled to play for the San Jose Giants on Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4 at Municipal Stadium as part of a rehabilitation assignment. Sandoval, 24, is recovering from a broken hamate bone in his right hand and was placed on the 15-day disabled list retroactive to April 30.

Sandoval is hitting .313 (26-for-83) with five home runs and 14 RBI in 24 games with San Francisco this season. The Giants' third baseman is in his fourth season with the San Francisco Giants. In 2009, Sandoval finished seventh in MVP voting in the National League.

Sandoval made his MLB debut in August 14, 2008 with the Giants. In his four-year career, Sandoval is hitting .305 (416-for-1363) with 46 home runs and 191 RBI. Pablo Sandoval played in San Jose during the 2007 and 2008 seasons and was a member of the 2008 California League All-Star Team.
