San Jose Giant Race June 28

San Jose, CA- The 2014 San Jose Giant Race is approaching quickly and will take place Saturday, June 28. All runners who finish the 5 Mile or 5K course will receive a commemorative finisher's medal featuring San Jose Giants mascot, Gigante (pictured right). The 2014 San Jose Giant Race will once again feature 5 Mile and 5K courses that finish on the field at Municipal Stadium. The event is billed as "Major Fun in the Minor Leagues" and everyone who participates will receive a ticket to a San Jose Giants baseball game that weekend, along with their medal.

"We are incredibly excited to once again be hosting the San Jose Giant Race," said Juliana Paoli, San Jose Giants Chief Marketing Officer. "This race has attracted more and more runners each year and 2014 should be no different, especially with our fan-favorite mascot, Gigante, featured prominently on the finisher's medal!"

The Giants Community Fund is back as the official benefiting partner of The San Jose Giant Race. Those who wish to fundraise for the Fund's flagship program, the Junior Giants, will not only give local South Bay Area youth the opportunity to participate in a free, non-competitive and innovative baseball program, but will also make themselves eligible to receive fundraising incentives such as baseballs and bats autographed by current Giants players.

The 2014 San Francisco Giant Race will take place Sunday, September 7 and feature a half marathon, 10K, and 5K courses. As one of San Francisco's premier road races, it allows nearly 20,000 runners the opportunity to finish their run on the field at AT&T Park. All 2014 races are expected to sell out quickly due to the event's increasing popularity amongst Giants fans and runners nationwide.

Runners who complete both the San Jose and San Francisco Races will receive the highly anticipated Turn Two Award - a pair of ear buds displaying team logos on each side - specially designed by the San Francisco and San Jose Giants.
