SAN JOSE, CA- The San Jose Giants will bring island culture and Hawaiian cuisine back to Municipal Stadium for the 11th Annual A Giant Luau on Friday, August 18 at 7:00 PM against the Visalia Rawhide. The evening will be full of Hawaiian festivities ranging from hula dancers and island music to the annual pig roasting ceremony in Turkey Mike's BBQ. This year, fans will also be treated to a special Postgame Fireworks Extravaganza.
"For the past decade, we have taken great pride in saying 'aloha' to our fans during A Giant Luau," said Juliana Paoli, SVP of Communications and Chief Marketing Officer of the San Jose Giants. "With fireworks, hula dancers, island music and a special pig roasting, this year's Giant Luau is guaranteed to make everyone inside Municipal Stadium feel like they're sitting on a beach in Hawaii."
Fans that wear Hawaiian clothing to the game Friday night will receive two complimentary future game tickets. Gates open at 5:30 PM and make sure to be one of the first 1,000 fans in attendance to receive a festive lei. The team will also wear special Hawaiian themed jerseys that fans can bid on during an in-game silent auction. The highest bidder will be able to go on the field following the game and receive their newly autographed jersey right off the respective San Jose Giant's back.
Famous Turkey Mike's BBQ will be serving native Hawaiian cuisine including roasted pig, Hawaiian style burgers, macaroni salad and much more. The Hukilau Restaurant will also be serving authentic cuisine. Traditional music from the islands will be provided by Eono Kane, accompanied by Hula dancers from Halau Na Wai Ola. A Tacky Tourist Contest and other festive luau themed promotions will take place throughout the night. Vendors such as Luana's Hawaiian Candy with Hawaiian goods and snacks will add to the Luau festivities.

The San Jose Giants also host Italian Night on Saturday, August 19 which features special jerseys, food, music and more. Heritage Weekend concludes on Sunday, August 20 with Japanese Heritage Night.
