SAN JOSE, CA- MiLB.com began unveiling their winners for the 2013 MiLBY Awards today. San Jose Giants left-handed starting pitcher Ty Blach captured the first MiLBY Award, being named this year's Best Starting Pitcher in all of Minor League Baseball, based on fans' votes.

A 5th-round pick from Creighton University in the 2012 draft, Blach (12-4, 2.90 ERA) won the California League ERA title in his rookie professional season. He walked only 18 batters compared to 117 strikeouts in 130 1/3 innings. In addition to earning a midseason All-Star selection, Blach was the lone Giant to be selected to the postseason California League All-Star team.

While voting for the MiLBY Awards has concluded, winners from other categories will continue to be announced by MiLB.com in the coming days. San Jose Giants' first baseman Ricky Oropesa is nominated for his California League North Division Series Game 5 home run as Best Moment.
