The Buffalo Bisons will begin the Triple-A ‘Final Stretch’ postseason tournament Wednesday night when they host the Lehigh Valley IronPigs at Sahlen Field (6:05 p.m.) and now the Herd will have even more reason to swing for the fences. For each home run the Bisons hit during the ‘Final Stretch,’ Minor League Baseball will donate $50 to WNY Heroes, Inc. as part of the all new ‘Homers That Help” program.

Minor League Baseball today announced the creation of a charitable component to the 10-game Triple-A Final Stretch of games that will benefit 501(c)3 charities in each Triple-A city. Along with the home run donation, the Triple-A team that hits the most home runs over the 10-game span will generate an extra $5,000 donation for their charity.

The Bisons will host the IronPigs for five straight games at Sahlen Field, starting with Wednesday’s Tops Dog Day at the Ballpark (6:05 p.m.) with appearance by ‘Rookie,’ the official bat dog of the Trenton Thunder. The Bisons homestand also includes a Fan Appreciation Night Honda fridaynightbash!® with Fireworks (6:05 p.m.), an appearance by Tyler’s Amazing Balancing Act on Saturday (1:05 p.m.) and the final home game of the 2021 season on Sunday at 6:05 p.m.

“Minor League Baseball teams have long been great community partners, and we are pleased to make a donation to each of these local charities on behalf of our Triple-A teams for their performance during the Triple-A Final Stretch,” said Major League Baseball’s Vice President, Minor League Operations and Development, Peter Woodfork. “These charities provide a variety of valuable services to their community, and it is our honor to recognize their efforts.”
