The Blue Jays today announced that they have optioned hard-throwing righty Nate Pearson to the Bisons to help make room for the activation of relivers Jordan Romano and Erik Swanson, Both Romano and Swanson had been rehabbing injuries with the Herd during their recent series at Sahlen Field. Pearson is expected to join the Bisons while the team is in Columbus for a series with the Clippers.

Pearson started the year with six scoreless outings for the Blue Jays, striking out nine and allowing just four hits in 6.1 innings of work. He last worked on Sunday against Colorado at Rogers Centre, where he struck out all three batters he faced.

Pearson has appeared in 46 games with the Bisons over the last five years/four seasons, making his Triple-A debut with the club in 2019. In his career with Buffalo, Triple-A hitters have averaged just .183 with only nine home runs in 295 at-bats against the righty. Pearson's high for appearances with the Herd came last year when he was 0-1 with a 1.74 ERA in 20 outings, with 34 strikeouts to only 14 hits allowed in 20.2 innings of work. Overall, he is 4-5 with a 3.29 ERA in 82 career innings with the Bisons.
