We believe baseball is for everyone.
That's why Sunday is Sensory Safe Night-- an evening designed to provide a more comfortable and inclusive ballpark experience for individuals with sensory sensitivities, including those with autism.
We'll turn down the sound. Limit flashing lights. And create a supportive, welcoming environment so your family can enjoy the game--together, without being overwhelmed.
We're doing some things different to help ensure that everyone can enjoy the game this Sunday:
- We're turning off the speakers in Sections 111-112.
- The videoboard is being dimmed and will not have flashing lights played through the game.
- Sensory Bags are available at Duke's Investigations Guest Services for fans to pick up.
- There will be a quiet zone on the Scout Deck with sensory activities like a sand box and different sensory kits available.
We're also continuing our traditional Kids Sunday Funday themes to make Sunday more enjoyable for younger fans.
- An earlier first pitch at 5:05 pm, good for bedtime routines.
- Stay after the game for player autographs on the field.
- Kids can run the bases after the game, presented by Bang Back Pinball Lounge.
Whether it's your child's first game or your family's favorite tradition, we're here to make it accessible and enjoyable for all.
If you have questions about accommodations, please call 803-726-4487--we're happy to help make your visit as smooth as possible.
